ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kelvin K. King is originally from Akron, Ohio. While attending Miami University (OH) on a full-football scholarship, the unforeseen occurred. Due to injury, Kelvin decided to hang up his cleats. But as one pair of shoes came off, another pair was tried, fitted, and laced. After receiving a Bachelor degree in Creative Writing, and Master Degree in American Literature from Miami University (OH), Kelvin moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he taught full-time for five years at an area college. Here the idea for his first novel, Kiss by Betrayal was created. Kelvin believes everything happens for a reason. Situations, as he calls them, can be bad, or good, depends on one’s perception. And he deems his perception on any situation as optimistic. For instance, another situation occurred after moving to Birmingham, Alabama where he currently teaches full-time at an area college. After finally realizing one of his purposes (writing) in life, someone tried to rob his dreams by stealing his debut novel. Kelvin had already spent countless hours writing and researching. Weeks of sleepless nights, and early-to-rise mornings toiling over a laptop computer was logged. He had to realize that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t make a wish and it would reappear. It was gone! It’s now 2005. That incident occurred over two-years ago. Kelvin believes Life teaches the hardest lessons. If one would remain diligent in their dreams, and when opportunity and expectation meet head-on; it can be a wondrous explosion.
