About the Author
Doris Washington is a spiritual writer and disability advocate who resides in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband and autistic son. Inspired by her son to write, she wrote her first poem “Invisible” in 1997. She has written over three hundred poems. She writes poems about spirituality, her closeness with God, positive thinking, her inspirations, autism awareness, social issues, and sincere greetings to loved ones and friends. She has two poetry CDs: “A Blessing, Caring & Sharing” and “They Are Someone’s Child.”
She does poetry recitals for churches, community events, nursing homes, and residential home facilities. She uses her poetry as a tool to spread God’s word and to bring the awareness of autism to police officers and the general public. And as she does poetry readings throughout her community, her desire hope her poetry will be an inspiration to many around the world.
